The Eagles Dance Team is for Eastern Christian School students who want to grow in their dance skills, performance quality and leadership. We are proud to partner with Greenhouse Arts Center to offer high-level training in Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip Hop dance styles.
Each training session will begin with a leadership lesson and students will grow their skills through dance exercises and choreography. Learning how to worship God through dance will be a part of training in addition to preparing for performances.
The dance team will be offered for multiple age ranges throughout the school year. An audition is required which will take place on at the first training session. All interested students may not be able to participate due to audition results.
At Greenhouse Arts Center, we are committed to making the world a better place through the arts. Since opening our doors in Harlem NYC in 2015, we have consistently worked to serve our community by providing accessible dance classes, mentorship programs, community service projects, and more, for anyone at any age.
Greenhouse Arts Center was founded in 2015 in Harlem NYC with a mission to create a welcoming place of hope where creativity thrives, using dance and other art forms as a vehicle for the community to grow together, make a difference locally, embrace all cultures, and raise future leaders. We have consistently served our community by providing accessible dance classes, mentorship programs, community service projects, and more for anyone at any age. What makes us different from other dance programs is that we created a Complete Creative Curriculum that is designed to cultivate Care, Esteem, Skill, Imagination, Collaboration, and Initiative. We’ve learned that a dance program won’t necessarily change a person’s life unless the teacher is determined to teach lessons that positively impact a student’s life in and out of the classroom. Our students grow in their dance technique alongside social-emotional health, leadership, and artistry. We can guarantee that every student will experience a holistic, inspiring, and high-quality professional dance education experience equipping them to step into a calling in the next generation of creative leaders.
Lauren Panzica Aguayo is a EC alumni and founded Greenhouse Arts Center in Harlem New York City in 2015 with the dream to create a multi-location arts education organization, anchored in its dedication to meet needs in any community through leadership centered dance programming. Her life journey and education has taken her across the world, participating in 12 different mission trips to 5 different continents as an adolescent and young adult. She holds a BA in Dance Education, BFA in Dance and minor in Communication at Montclair State University and completed a Certificate IV in Dance Ministry from Hillsong International Leadership College in Australia. Immersing herself in other cultures inspired a process of critical thinking centered around the power of the arts to meet the needs of communities and the dissonance she experienced in American dance education systems. She has worked in public, private and charter schools across NYC and NJ for over 15 years, teaching thousands of students with an ethos that prioritizes positive impact. Simultaneously, she has built Greenhouse Arts Center with her team in Harlem and in New Jersey which now offer 40 classes and 10 school partnerships between both states. She’s continued to hone her skills as an Executive Director by participating in the Advance Leadership Intensive (Movement.org) and E3 which equips faith based Executive Directors with community and professional development. She currently resides in New Jersey with her husband who runs his own practice of pediatric occupational therapy.
